Double Whammy is a boutique production studio. The same few people take your project from the first call to the final file, and we remember why you hired us the whole way through.

Thi was four when his family fled Vietnam, by way of Hong Kong, to Calgary. His father stayed behind.
Years later he went back with a film crew to find him. The result, Made in Vietnam, is a feature documentary about home, family and the places we find them.
He started Double Whammy to make everything else with the same honesty: transit commercials people actually laughed at, a recycling spot made in Punjabi for Punjabi neighbourhoods, and a fundraising film built to make a room full of donors go quiet.
He directs, produces and sits in the edit on every project. That’s not a slogan. It’s just how small studios work.
How we work

Story before spectacle.
Drones are nice. A reason to watch is nicer. We lock the idea before we book the gear.

The director stays in the edit.
Nobody hands your footage to a stranger. The person who shot it cuts it.

Plan every screen on day one.
Cinema, broadcast and vertical get framed on set, so every version looks intended.

Honest budgets.
We’ll tell you what your number buys, and when it doesn’t. No surprise lines on the final invoice.
